17 Manusctipts of Hand Writing of Allama Iqbal
Baal-e-Jibreel [Wings of Gabriel] was after Bang-e-Dara was a real leap for Iqbal. It’s where Khudi is unleashed and the real journey begins. It is not surprising that he named his compilation Nishaan-e-Manzil initially. As seen in the first image below, he crossed that out to make it Baal-e-Jibreel, where Khudi takes flight with wings of Gabriel, which according to Hadith are enormous to fly across worlds and universes.
A graphologist’s study of Iqbal’s writing may unravel a more faster flow as like he is trying to transfer all his thoughts to paper quickly. Unlike other poets, Iqbal rarely changes the verses, the Kalam and Prophecies of Khudi seems to have existed in mature form, which he tranfered to paper without any edits or revisions.
