Do not look on dervishes with contempt – From Rumi’s Masnavi

The work of spiritual poverty (dervishhood) is beyond your understanding: do not look on dervishes with contempt.

Because dervishes are beyond property and wealth: they possess an abundant portion from the Lord of Majesty.

Since the highest stage is non-existence, the dervishes have surpassed all others.

The wars of mankind are for the sake of Beauty; the foliage without foliage is the sign of the Tooba tree.

Tooba: a tree in Paradise. Its name means “Blessedness” or “Goodness”, as mentioned in Quran 13:29
