O Saki, Go around and offer the winecup: First poem from Diwan-e-Hafiz
In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Compassionate.
Ho! O Saki, go around and offer the winecup
For the burden of love for God at first appeared easy, but now seems hard
Desiring for fragrance that morning breeze brings from unlocking of her hairlocks
Blood of sadness fills hearts for curls of her musky trees
Colour your prayer mat with wine, if your spiritual mentor [perfect murshid] asks you to.
For he is traveller that knows ways of spiritual highway
There is little joy I have at this temporary station of my beloved [God]
When caravan’s bell [call of death] keeps calling me every moments, “pack up bags and go”
