Haider-e-Um Qalandaram Mastam: I am Haideri , a Qalandar intoxicated in Ali’s devotion

Haider-e-Um Qalandaram Mastam is a Qawwali which begins with Faris Manqabat, in praise of Hazrat Ali and then has Urdu poetry. The opening verses are as follows:

 

Haider-e-Um Qalandaram Mastam

Bandaa-e-Murtaza Ali Hastam

Peshwa-e-Tamaam Virdaanam

Ke Sage Kuu-e-Sher-E-Yazdaanam

Kabhi Deewar Hilti Hai, Kabhi Dar Kaanp Jaata Hai

Ali Ka Naam Sunkar, Ab Bhi Khyber Kaanp Jaata Hai

Shaah-E-Mardaan Ali, Ali Ali Ali Maula Al, Haq!

King Of Brave Men, Ali, Ali, My Master, Ali

 

 

 

English Translation

I am Haideri , a qalandar intoxicated in his devotion

I am a only a servant of Ali the chosen one

I am foremost among all rind, those drunk in devotion

A dog on the streets of the Lion of God

The wall shivers sometimes, the door shakes

Upon hearing the name of Ali, Khyber Fort still trembles
