Six Qawwalis by the great Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri: Letter by Wazir Dayers

 

Dear Brother W,

 

Tonight I’m sending you six qawwalis by the great Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri, which were recorded in Pakistan in 1993. These qawwalis were equally released on tape, in India. Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri sang these qawwalis solo, without his younger brother Haji Maqbool Ahmad Sabri. Why he did this is unknown to me. Whatever the reason was, I think these are marvelous Qawwalis, and I hope you will think so too.

 

They are all in Urdu and praise the Holy Prophet (Upon Whom Be Peace) and the Sufi Saints: Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam Abdul-Qadir Gilani/Jilani (R.A.), Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti (R.A.) and Hazrat Khwaja Allauddin Ahmad Ali Sabir Kalyari Chishti (R.A.).
